Rolling Stone magazine has for the first time rated the greatest 100 Beatles' songs, with the 1967 track "A Day in the Life" written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney topping the list that was released on Wednesday. Coming in second was top-selling 1963 single "I Want to Hold Your Hand" followed by "Strawberry Fields Forever," which recalled Lennon's nostalgia for his childhood growing up in Liverpool in Britain.

The list was released as part of a special collector's edition issue titled "The Beatles: 100 Greatest Songs" to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the Fab Four's 12th and final studio album, "Let It Be," released in 1970. "Lennon, McCartney and Harrison had stunningly high standards as writers," musician Elvis Costello said in the introduction to the Rolling Stone list. "Then they started to really grow up: simple love lyrics to adult stories... and on to bigger ideas than you would expect to find in catchy pop lyrics." "Yesterday," McCartney's 1965 track that once had a working title of "Scrambled Eggs" while the lyrics were written, came in fourth, and "In My Life," released on the album "Rubber Soul," placed fifth.

Rolling Stone's Top 10 list of Greatest Beatles songs are:

1. "A Day in the Life"
2. "I Want to Hold Your Hand"
3. "Strawberry Fields Forever"
4. "Yesterday"
5. "In My Life"
6. "Something"
7. "Hey Jude"
8. "Let It Be"
9. "Come Together"
10. "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

Ever dream about a celebrity? Here's what psychologists say it says about YOU:

• Courtney Love -- You'd like to be more gutsy.

• Robert Downey Jr. -- You fear your own talent is somehow being squandered.

• Britney Spears -- You're unsure how you should present yourself to the world.

• Ben Affleck -- You want to be more carefree and adventurous.

• Simon Cowell -- You fear that you're inadequate.

In the next season: Feeling responsible for the loss of staffers during the shootout (in the finale of last season), Derek (Patrick Dempsey) will step down as chief, returning the reins to Dr. Webber. Derek is also still unaware of Meredith’s pregnancy and miscarriage. “I think he’ll be devastated,” Dempsey tells TV Guide. “Seeing how quick life can be, I think they’ll want to have a child even more. Why not create a life before you lose your own?”

• Teddy (Kim Raver) finds a new love interest in trauma counselor Dr. Andrew Perkins (James Tupper). “I make out with him in episode 1,” says Raver. “It was just like it was with Kiefer [Sutherland] on 24, where we met and had to kiss.”

• An unnamed couple will get engaged and married during the season premiere. TV Guide says it’s one of three possible couples — Callie and Arizona, Alex and Lexie or Owen and Cristina.

• Speaking of Owen and Cristina, “They definitely take it to the next level,” Kevin McKidd says, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the ones tying the knot. “They’ve been through a huge amount in two seasons,” he continues, “and I think Cristina felt burned by her last wedding [to Burke].

• Scraping of train wheels
• Seesaw squeaking
• Violin
• Flatulence
• One baby crying
• Soap opera argument
• Electricity hum

WHAT YOUR WORK SPACE SAYS ABOUT YOU

Whether it's just an area for paying bills or the center of a home business, your work area speaks volumes about who you really are. "The items on your desk or dining room table are a dead giveaway to your personality," says psychologist Miriam Fox. "Every object tells a story about you."

Memorabilia -- The collectibles you've gathered reveal the loving relationships in your life. Your keepsakes make you seem more approachable, and people naturally turn to you for advice and comfort. You are a compassionate person who can be a loyal confidante without passing judgment or jumping to conclusions.

Uncluttered -- Everything is tucked away in its place and you are focused on the task at hand. The clean surface also indicates you're a person with traditional values with enduring beliefs. But if the uncluttered top hides messy desk drawers, it proves you appreciate order even when you're unable to maintain it.

Plants -- Your green thumb denotes you're a person who gets the job done no matter what. You're conscientious and committed to your home, job and community. You're willing to give the time and effort it takes to be at the top of your game at work as well as giving your family the love and attention they deserve.

Junkyard -- A conglomeration of books, papers and notes strewn across your desk doesn't mean you're disorderly it's a sure sign that you're open to new ideas and flexible enough to change direction. Your clever mind enjoys solving problems but is easily bored, so you're always ready for a compelling challenge.

Photographs -- Keeping a gang of pictures especially of family on your desk is a sure sign of your warm, generous nature. You're quite successful in both your career and your relationships. A go getter who knows what you want from life, you're confidence in the face of adversity makes you a winner.

Your car or your kitchen counter could repair itself with nothing more than sunlight, thanks to a secret ingredient from shrimp shells. Polymer scientist Marek Urban and Biswajit Ghosh, of the University of Southern Mississippi, have created a new class of chemicals based on chitosan, the substance that gives shrimp shells their flexible toughness. By adding a kind of plastic and mixing it with polyurethane, the researchers created a substance that, when scratched or damaged, bonds to itself after being exposed to ultraviolet light just like the light from the sun. The coating could be used on surgical tools, in industrial paints or as a clear, tough coating on furniture. Well done guys!

Remember Angel? Surfacing was a great album that won two Grammy awards for Sarah McLachlan, I followed her from there, through the live album Mirrorball (with a great version of I Will Remember You) the single Silence with Delerium and following albums. I saw her in concert in 2004 and was really impressed. It was her husband's (also her drummer) birthday and he was back in his home town. Now they've split up, I wasn't sure whether I should bring it up during the interview, in fact the whole relationship may've still been a bit touchy (promoting the album inspired by those events may rekindle those emotional feelings afterall) so I was concious not to bring it up... She's got two kids now and loves to talk about them (she's a proud Mum) but how does she keep them in check? Listen below. Also, there's something she can't drink while on tour (the rest of the time is fine) which I found interesting...

HEIGHTEN YOUR FIVE SENSES

(From Men's Health) Sense-sharpening brain implants are decades away. Until then, use these simple tricks:

• Touch -- Look at the body part that's doing the touching. A British study found that looking at the body part increase activity in the area of the brain that controls sensation. The reserve works, too. Look away when receiving a shot.

• Hearing -- Simply smile. The muscles that turn your frown upside down also tense your middle-ear muscles. In turn, this softens low-frequency noises including the hum of an air conditioner, the din of traffic, or office chatter, by as much as 20 decibels.

• Taste -- Take a good whiff of your food before you eat. "Ninety% of taste is smell," says Alan Hirsch, M.D., a neurologist. "The more odor molecules hit receptors in your nose, the more robust your sense of taste."

• Smell -- Run the hot water. Before odors reach your smell receptors, they first pass through a membrane. Warm, moist air helps odors dissolve into the membrane. But hurry, your heightened sense will last only a few minutes.

• Sight -- Position your computer monitor so you're looking slightly down at it. Your eyes won't be open as wide, so they won't be exposed to as much cornea-drying air. That means less eye strain and blurring and better vision.

Not only man's best friend?

Some heart warming pics here on friendship - Paula Abdul said opposites attract in the 80s - and it's still true today

What?

Hangin'.

True Friends (and good message)

The story goes that after losing his parents, this 3 year old orangutan was so depressed he wouldn't eat and didn't respond to any medical treatments. The veterinarians thought he would surely die from sadness. The zoo keepers found an old sick dog on the grounds in the park at the zoo where the orangutan lived and took the dog to the animal treatment center. The dog arrived at the same time the orangutan was there being treated. The two lost souls met and have been inseparable ever since.

The orangutan found a new reason to live and each always tries his best to be a good companion to his new found friend. They are together 24 hours a day in all their activities. Yay!

Woman's Day offers these ways to exercise your patience muscle.

• Time it -- Next time you're on hold or sitting in traffic, time how long you actually wait. Chances are it'll be much less than it feels. Then ask yourself: What difference will an extra five to 10 minutes make in my day, anyway? Probably not a lot.

• Interrupt the fight-or-flight response -- The minute you feel yourself getting impatient, stop the release of cortisol by paying attention to your body. First, breathe deeply. Then roll your shoulders (which are probably near your ears by now) forward, up and back. Repeat. This interrupts your body's negative physical reaction so the blood flow can go back to your brain and you can think more rationally.

• Turn a "problem" into an opportunity -- Caught in traffic with nowhere to go? Use that time to play a book on tape. Stuck waiting for an elevator? Get your daily exercise by climbing the stairs.

• Follow the golden rule -- The next time you want to honk at a driver who's driving slowly or yell at an airline agent because your flight is late, ask yourself this: If I were in that person's shoes and doing the best I could under the circumstance, how would I want to be treated? Extend grace, and it will always come back to you.

The truth is out there? ET phone home?

Scientists believe that the Voyager 2 probe, which NASA launched into space in 1977, may have been hijacked by aliens who are trying to make contact with Earth. Now more than 8 billion miles away, the spacecraft began transmitting strange signals in April that experts at NASA have been unable to decipher. While the space agency says the bizarre communications are likely the result of a software glitch, other experts argue that there may something more significant occurring. "Other than the unusual transmissions, everything aboard the vessel seems to be in working order," says German astrophysicist Otto Kohler. "To me, that suggests that the craft was taken over and reprogrammed to begin transmitting these messages. (Sun) Woah!

Will your marriage last? Researchers from DePauw University in Indiana have concluded that you can guess the chances your marriage will last based on what you and your spouse looked like in old photographs! It seems that people who are pictured smiling in old photos are more likely to be in a successful marriage than the grim and sour-faced. People who frown or have a grim expression in photographs are five times more likely to get a divorce than people who smile. Most interesting, the researchers found a connection between photos taken when people were young and marriage outcomes that sometimes occurred much later in life. Have a look at yours now!

These two will last forever.

Scientists say that expressing disappointment may be your best negotiating tactic in getting what you want. In a new Dutch study, people making deals with self-centered opponents were significantly more likely to get their way when they acted disappointed than when they showed irritation or wore a poker face. Disappointment signals that you may walk away, so people might make concessions to prevent the negotiation from falling apart, says study author Gerben Van Kleff, Ph.D. (Men's Health)

Listening to my show not only helps you mellow out, it may also reduce your risk of heart attach and stroke. In a recent study, when 10 men and women spent a half hour listening to recordings they found joyful, their blood vessels diameter increased 26% on average, about the same benefit as exercising aerobically or starting a cholesterol lowering medication like Lipitor or Zocor. Conversely, when they had to endure a half hour of music that made them anxious, in most cases heavy metal, blood vessels narrowed 6%, similar to the impact of doing arithmetic in your head. When vessels open up, blood can flow more smoothly, so clots are less likely to form. (Thanks Good Housekeeping!)

Daydreams are a great way to escape your everyday worries, but there's more going on there than idle fancy. "Studies show that what you imagine when you're wide-awake and dreaming directly relates to your deepest hopes and desires," says psychotherapist John Jeffries. "And once you understand the meaning of your daydreams, you can begin to work toward the goals that will make you happy."

Romance -- Your inner voice is clamoring for you to start a self-improvement program. Think about what steps you can take to make yourself a better, happier person. Whether you want to lose weight, find a new job or sign up for a night class, now is the time to jump right in and get started.

Problems -- If thoughts of trouble are invading your daydreams, you are feeling a need to prepare yourself for the future. Make an effort to double-check your plans before you leave for a trip and immerse yourself in all the information available before starting a new project at work. Having all your ducks in a row will put you at ease.

Nature scenes -- You're a high achiever who craves success. You're willing to do whatever it takes to reach your goals, and your single-minded focus on the main chance makes it a sure bet you'll be a winner. Make an effort to gain the good will of your co-workers and you're even more likely to make it to the top.

Solitude -- Daydreaming about being all by your lonesome? The experts say this fantasy indicates you need to express your creative side. Maybe art lessons are just what you need to satisfy your deepest desire. Don't suppress it. Find a way to indulge your fanciful impulses and open the door to happiness.

Trophy -- Musings about winning awards suggest that you're too busy doing for others to think about yourself. Instead of feeling neglected, make a concerted effort to pamper yourself with a day at the spa or a shopping spree at the mall. Remember that the first step in truly loving others is to love yourself.

Do you think it's true?

According to Psycholgist Dr. Elayne Kahn, here's what your nervous habits reveal about you:

• Biting nails -- You're hearty, friendly and likable and you pat people on the back for a job well done. You also like to work with your hands, baking bread or doing yard work satisfies you.

• Coughing or throat clearing -- You want others to pay attention to you and what you say. You think carefully before giving advice to others. Words are important to you and you want to make sure they come out right. You are considerate and want others to like you.

• Doodling or playing with a pencil -- you're creative, artistic and have lots of energy. You're also well-organized and often make lists of things you need to do or buy.

• Grinding teeth -- you have a good sense of humor, and you laugh off irritations. You don't get angry when others are late and you're a good a listener.

• Knuckle cracking -- You are very independent and you like exercise, contact sports and dancing.

• Squirming & fidgeting -- If you can't sit still you're a person with a lot of different interests, a real go-getter eager to achieve what you want out of life. You pride yourself on being able to do two things at once - and do them both well.

• Twisting hair or running fingers through hair -- You want people to notice how you look. You're conscious of your appearance, especially your hair and face. You believe in exercise, night courses and other forms of self improvement.)

My two favourite colours work! A study from the University of British Columbia concludes that the best colour to boost our ability to think creatively is blue. In addition, it found that red is the most effective at enhancing our attention to detail, findings that could have major implications for advertising and interior design. In the study, red boosted performance on detail-oriented tasks such as memory retrieval and proofreading by as much as 31% compared to blue. For creative tasks such as brainstorming, blue environmental cues prompted participants to produce twice as many creative outputs as when under the red colour condition.

What it means when you're dreaming of horses and other critters. You may not be able to talk to the animals, but they can talk to you in your dreams. Experts describe the messages revealed by animals that roam your subconscious while you're sleeping:

• Dogs -- have always been saluted as symbols of loyalty and unconditional love. Canines in your dreams signal that all is right whether romantic or family.

• Cats -- represent intuition the "subconscious mind" that humans depend on before their "rational mind" of words and other symbols take over. Felines in your dreams mean you should trust your instincts when faced with a tough choice. "Listen to your gut," says Layne Dalfen, author of Dreams Do Come True: Decoding your Dreams to Discover Your Full Potential.

• Lions -- in your sleep mean its time for you to roar, whether you're asking for a raise, taking the lead on a project or demanding respect in a relationship.

• Birds -- traditionally symbolize freedom, especially if they're on the wing. If you're dreaming of our fine feathered friends, you're ready to let loose but only you can know whether that means looking for a new job, a new relationship or simply telling someone what you really think or feel.

• Rabbits -- have been symbols of fertility throughout the ages. So dreams of bunnies may mean you're ready to have a baby. They can also signal a fertile, creative mind, says dream analyst Martin Horowitz: "So start that novel or launch that new hobby as a photographer or artist."

• Horses -- show you're ready to run wild and free. It's time to break out of the ol' corral and have some fun in your life by, as the old saying goes, "horsing around." So schedule a holiday, a long weekend or at least have a party.

• Dolphins -- have been symbols of good luck ever since they started escorting boats and ships at sea. "Dolphins are a blissful sing," says dream expert Tanya O'Meara. "You can relax because your future looks bright."

I read that your brain likes salt. When you eat salty goods it releases chemicals within that make you feel nice, so you reward your brain by eating more. And more. Just watch the blood pressure eh!

How tall will your son be?

I saw a formula in a magazine to figure out how tall your son will end up. The formula is: add the father's height and his mother's height, divide by two, then add 7cm for a boy or subtract it for a girl. Will your kids be taller than you?

It’s finally happened! Scientists have invented a calorie free chocolate powder that consumers can savor without the guilt as easily as breathing. Le Whif, an organic chocolate recipe developed by Harvard professor David Edwards sprays tiny particles through your mouth and onto your taste buds. Tiny particles? Hmm, I’m not sure that’s enough for me. The sweet treat is based on 10 years of exhaustive research into aerosol science. The biodegradable dispensers that look like lipstick tubes can release up to eight puffs of the chocolatey substance to prolog the experience. Busy travelers and multitaskers will also appreciate the design that opens quickly with one hand. The tasty sweet comes in three flavors pure rich chocolate, tangy raspberry chocolate, and refreshing mint chocolate. The mouth watering snack went on sale in the U.S. in February, selling for $2.50 a tube. No word on when it gets here…

Always tired? Maybe because your body is busy!

Check out all these changes our bodies go through:
Eyes -- We blink 5,000,000 times a year, and spend 23 minutes of every waking day doing it. We also produce a half gallon of tears, enough to fill a kettle, and spend an average three and a half hours a day watching TV -- the equivalent of 53 days a year.
Nose -- Your nose hair grows an inch a year, adding up to six feet over the course of your life. Laid end to end, the hairs could wrap six times around your head.
• Breasts -- A breast-feeding mother produces 43 gallons of milk a year, enough to fill 237 wine bottles.
Lungs -- An adult breathes two gallons of air a minute, more than 1,000,000 gallons a year, enough to inflate two hot air balloons. After 50, lung capacity decreases as air sacks become less elastic.
Stomach -- The stomach produces about a quarter of a gallon of gastric juice a day to help digest food. We eat 2,000 calories a day on average, and our metabolism peaks during adolescence, falling after that. Most people put on five pounds every decade after 20. But most of the food we eat is used up on energy. If you spend all day sleeping you still use up 1,320 calories, and 4,800 if you spend all day and night walking. Food is digested within 24 hours.
Hands -- When you touch something, impulses travel through the nerve network to the brain at a rate of 350 feet per second. Our fingernails grow three and a half centimeters a year.
• Blood -- We produce 200 billion new red blood cells a day. We also have a trillion white cells, which together weigh 2 pounds. They fight infection and are constantly being renewed -- 10 million each time.
Skin -- We shed 240 grams of skin each year, the equivalent of three layers. Babies renew their skin every seven days but a retiree takes six weeks. Young skin holds 14 pints of water, but we lose three and a half pints of it through our skin very day. The average person sweats the equivalent of 606 cans of cola a year, and if you exercise you lose a teaspoon of salt each session.
Hair -- Each day we shed 200 hairs, adding up to 73,000 a year -- enough to make Dolly Parton a new wig. We have more than 100,000 hairs. They grow five inches a year and most last two years before falling out. Grey hair starts developing around age 34, and by the time most of us are 50, half our hair is gray.
Brain -- We store a million items in the brain, everything from phone numbers to memories and feelings. The average person has more than 100 billion brain cells at age 35, but from then on we lose them at a rate of 7,000 a day or 2,555,000 a year.
Mouth -- The mouth is the first feature to form in a unborn baby, so we learn taste and texture before we have even swallowed food. As adults we spend the equivalent of 10 days a year eating, and 55 days talking. We eat an average 100 eggs, 150 loaves of bread and 27 pounds of chocolate a year.
Liver -- Your liver helps process food and drink, and over the course of a year it produces 96 gallons of bile to help break down fat. That's enough to paint half a street of row houses.
Kidneys -- The kidneys help filter 50 gallons of fluid a day from which they produce a gallon and a half of urine, or 125 gallons a year. We spend two full days a year on the toilet.
Heart -- Your heart pumps 1,700 gallons of blood around your body a day, beating 80 times a minute. In a year it pumps enough blood to fill several large swimming pools.
• Sex organs -- In male adolescence the testes produce 1,000 sperm per second. A girl is born with about 1 million eggs in her ovaries. The average couple have sex 130 times a year, and have five different partners in their life. The typical couple has two children and four grandchildren.
Bones -- In children, half the skeleton is replaced, cell by cell, every year. In two years they have a whole new set of bones. The process of renewal continues in adulthood, but takes five times as long. After 35, bone density is reduced around 0.2 percent a year. Most of us start shrinking after the age 45.
Feet -- The average person takes 9,000 steps a day -- 3,285,000 a year -- or 1,456 miles. In a life time that means we walk 115,000 miles -- more than four times around the world. So, it's no wonder feet sweat. The 250,000 glands in a pair of feet excrete half a pint of moisture every day.
